Loch Duart salmon wins Foodservice Product of the Year at Scottish Food ‘Oscars’

Loch Duart, a salmon farming business based in North West Scotland, has received the ‘Foodservice Product of the Year’ award at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards.

The award was presented to Simon Maguire, Loch Duart’s Finance Director, at the ceremony held last night (18th May) in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The event celebrates those businesses and individuals in Scotland who are leading the way with innovation, enterprise and quality.

Loch Duart’s reputation for top quality salmon was acknowledged in the award, which considered its unique suite of practices focusing on low density farming, sustainability, environmental stewardship and fish welfare.

Commenting on the company’s success last night, Alban Denton, Managing Director, of Loch Duart, said:

“We’re really thrilled to get this award. Our staff work at sea in all weathers to bring our salmon to the market and the fine taste… is what brings people back to eat them again and again. This award is an endorsement of the quality of our salmon and its continued impact in the hotel and restaurant trade. This is a boost to all the Loch Duart team and wouldn’t have been possible without their commitment and dedication towards producing the most extraordinary tasting salmon available.”
