Salmon farmers helping the next generation of engineers

More used to growing salmon, the team at Loch Duart is also helping budding engineers from Kinlochbervie High School. The company is hosting visits at their base in Scourie for students undertaking Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) National 4 Automotive Skills.

Kinlochbervie High School will soon get an insight into the real world, thanks to mechanics at Loch Duart Salmon

Students will be introduced to a variety of equipment and shown how to identify and repair mechanical problems. They will also see how essential health and safety practices ensure a safe working environment.

This longstanding partnership has led to a number of students signing up to Modern Apprenticeships within the engineering sector, or going on to study engineering at college.
