The Code of Good Practice for Scottish Finfish Aquaculture (the Code) is a voluntary standard that underpins Scotland’s salmon farming industry. It is designed to be “best practice in action” and is regularly reviewed and updated to incorporate the latest developments in fish farming.
Fish health and welfare are of paramount importance at every stage of production and a fundamental part of the Code. Farmers ensure that fish are monitored every day and complete a variety of health checks to ensure that fish are healthy throughout the production cycle.
