Scottish salmon farmers take BBC prime time slots

Scotland’s salmon producers have starred in two prime time BBC television shows. Wester Ross Fisheries Ltd featured in Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain’s new show ‘Time to Eat’ which broadcast on BBC Two and is now available on the BBC’s iPlayer. Wester Ross also joined Mowi in contributing to BBC Alba’s Trusadh series, in an hour long programme dedicated to exploring Scottish Aquaculture, Torah na Mara. It too can be viewed via the iPlayer.

Although very different formats both programmes explored sustainable farming and the unique, world-leading product grown by Scottish salmon farmers. In her day with Wester Ross, Nadiya Hussain spent time at the independent company’s Ardmair Farm near Ullapool before visiting their processing facility in Dingwall.

BBC Alba’s Trusadh focused on Mowi’s Loch Tarbet sites exploring, with the company’s Ian Roberts and Donald MacLennan, how the Scottish salmon sector supports local communities and economies, the level of investments being made and how the sector works with regulators and the Scottish Government.
