Aquaculture nations from around the world continue to look to Scottish salmon as the benchmark of quality, thanks to its reputation as a premium producer of high quality, sustainable and healthy food.
At the recent Aquaculture Europe 2016 conference in Edinburgh, Anne MacColl, Chair of Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation, explained to the international audience of academics and aquaculture specialists that the stringent standards and ongoing research has led Scotland to become an exporter not just of salmon, but also of expertise.

The event was hosted and organised by the Scottish Government with a record 1700 delegates. Scientists, academics and aquaculture representatives presented innovations, research opportunities and industry developments.
